Corine J. Green Partnership Program (CJGPP): Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the Corine J. Green Partnership Program (CJGPP)?

The CJGPP provides fiscal sponsorship and funding support to Sigma Gamma Rho chapters and community-based organizations (CBOs) that align with the mission and values of the SPEAR Foundation. This program helps organizations access resources for community service, education, advocacy, and research initiatives.

2. Who can apply for fiscal sponsorship?

Eligible applicants include:
✔️ Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. chapters
✔️ Community-based organizations (CBOs) with initiatives that align with SPEAR’s mission
✔️ Projects or events that promote education, advocacy, financial literacy, or community impact

All applications must designate two Authorizing Officials who will serve as primary points of contact.

3. What are the responsibilities of the organization receiving fiscal sponsorship?

Organizations approved for sponsorship must:
✔️ Manage all marketing, fundraising, and implementation of the project or event
✔️ Acknowledge SPEAR as a sponsor on all promotional materials
✔️ Submit a post-event report within 30 days of project completion
✔️ Ensure that funds are used strictly for the approved project or event

4. What are the guidelines for marketing and fundraising?

All promotional materials (flyers, social media graphics, press releases, etc.) must:
✔️ Clearly recognize SPEAR as a sponsor
✔️ Be submitted to SPEAR for approval prior to distribution
✔️ Comply with IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt regulations (i.e., no political endorsements or lobbying)

5. What activities are prohibited under this sponsorship?

Organizations may not:
❌ Use funds for any purpose outside the approved project or event
❌ Engage in political campaigns or legislative lobbying
❌ Conduct activities that jeopardize SPEAR’s tax-exempt status

Failure to comply may result in termination of fiscal sponsorship.

6. How do we receive donations under the CJGPP?

Once approved, your organization will receive:
✔️ A 501(c)(3) tax determination letter
✔️ A custom donation portal for online contributions
✔️ SPEAR’s logo and sponsorship acknowledgment materials

All donations must be processed through SPEAR’s voucher portal, and funds will be released based on approved requests.

7. How are vendor payments handled?

Organizations must submit vendor payment requests via the SPEAR voucher portal. Payments will only be made if funds are available on account for the approved project. Authorizing Officials will receive updates on approvals and remaining balances.

8. What is required in the post-project report?

A final report must be submitted within 30 days of project completion and should include:
✔️ A summary of impact and outcomes
✔️ Financial documentation and donor reports
✔️ A list of any in-kind donations received

Fees & Administrative Costs

9. What administrative fees apply to fiscal sponsorship?

✔️ In-Kind Donations: $25 per donation (max 2 per year, up to $2,000 total)
✔️ Monetary Donations/Sponsorships:

  • First $4,000 raised: $50 per every $2,000 received

  • Over $4,000 raised: 10% of total funds

All fees are non-refundable and help cover SPEAR’s operational and compliance costs.

10. How do we submit an application?

Complete the CJGPP application online and pay the required administrative fee at www.spearfoundation.org. Applications must include:
✔️ Project/event description
✔️ Two Authorizing Officials
✔️ Budget and fundraising plan

Once submitted, SPEAR will review the application and notify applicants of approval status.
